The Power Of A Two Way Conversation

So lost on the world these days is the art of two way conversation. A good conversation is so beneficial on so many different levels. A two way conversation elevates that even higher.
I may be an old, stubborn Norwegian and some may think my mind is set to what I think. First part of that is yes, second part, no way. I'll listen to anyone about anything and everything, but it's when it's forced upon me and my point of view doesn't matter, that's not a conversation. That's someone picking out what they see as your flaws and using them against you. It's almost like being baited into a confrontation because everyone can only be pushed so far before they react.
Now I healthy two way conversation is exactly what it is called. Both sides share their point of view and understand why the other person thinks what they think. They don't let it rip them apart, they find common ground, because there is common ground in everything. If anything, it helps us grow to understand things.
I had a conversation last night with an old friend that I haven't seen in eight and a half years. We've randomly chatted over the years and we've always known that the other one is there if either of us need anything. We chatted for hours and hours like it was close to a decade ago. They know me, I know them, and it was awesome, I hate to say it but it felt like talking to my therapist. No judging, no expectations from either side, and that's how a two way conversation is meant to go. I haven't slept that good in a long time because the worry that plagues my mind on most days, just took a break.
Granted I have my handful of friends that I talk to on a regular basis and this is in no way meant to seem like those conversations are lesser by any means. I cherish all the healthy talks I have with all my close friends.
A good two way conversation has a healing power and if it doesn't, it's not the right kind of conversation. Both parties should exit the conversation like.....fuck yeah. If you ever get the feeling that someone gets a text from you and they feel like....ah fuck not again?!?!?!, leave them alone and don't let them be a burden on your brain and vice versa.
Remember, the power to change the world is carried in our words, use them wisely and with the right people.
