So here's the thing about time travel, it is possible, use it wisely, and don't get stuck.

So time travel is possible, believe it or not but it can happen and happen whenever you want. No you can step into a phone booth and get magically zapped to whenever you want. Everyone has their own time machine, it's not a car, a phonebooth or some magical device, it's your mind.

Ok so there are rules to all of this, well more of guidelines I guess. You can't travel forward through memories that don't exist, it would all be a realm of imagination and that's a dangerous realm. We go into the future every second of every day, don't try to get greedy and imagine a future that can't exist, that will destroy you.

Now traveling to the past is easy, insanely easy, but don't get stuck there. Getting stuck in the past is a real problem full of paradoxes and all the awful stuff that entails. Again no you can't physically go into the past, well it is somewhat possible if my math is right, but quantum mechanics and particle physics is more of a hobby. I trust my math, but I've missed a decimal place before and my eyebrows took a bit to grow back.

Everyone can go back in time whenever they want through their memories and dreams. I don't have the ability to forget things so I have an entire lifetime of memories available to me at the spark of a synapse. I can close my eyes and instantly go back to every second of a memory, everything down to the smallest details. My brain is my best blessing and my biggest curse, this is where getting stuck comes into play. I've gotten stuck in the past and it's rugged. You get so caught up in a memory whether it be a person, a fun time with your friends, first love, first date, firsts of any kind, and anything else you can imagine. You can get caught up in the, why didn't I do this? Why did I do that? What was I thinking? Why was I thinking that? What could I have done to change the outcome? This, in my eyes, is the worst form of paradox, you get stuck overthinking about things you can't change because it's called the past for a reason.

Go into the past to remember the good memories and learn from the not so great ones. Don't get stuck there because that is when you allow your then to affect your now, don't ever let your past dictate your future. Learn, grow, and move past the bad or you'll find yourself stuck there.

Oh shit I almost forgot about the most important timeframe in your life. It's not the past because we've already established that we can't change it. It's not the future because it hasn't happened yes, even though it is happening every second. The most important timeframe in our lives is.....The Present.

Yes every millisecond that passes us by is technically the future, I don't categorize it as such. The future is the point in time that is out of reach. Every millisecond we get older but we can control how to spend those brief seconds of time. The future is always tomorrow for me, it's close enough to know but far enough away that you can't grab it.

The present is exactly that, it's a gift, a gift that not everyone gets and too many take for granted. In every second that passes, we have the ability to do what we want. I'm sitting on my couch typing this, drinking coffee, and enjoying my time off. I am controlling how I spend my now, not being told what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. We are all the masters of our own destiny, the future isn't written, it is the things we do with our now that write the outline for our tomorrow. Choosing how we spend our time is one of the greatest parts of life. Don't say the world dealt you a bad hand, discard the bad cards and get some new ones.

Like I always say, don't let your then affect your now. Now to add to that, make your now affect your tomorrow. Don't waste the present thinking you get more time in the future, that's not how it works, there may not be a tomorrow. Use everything you've learned from your then to affect your now so you can use now to affect tomorrow.

In closing, use your time machine however you like. This is just some guidelines from a random soul traveling through space and time. Time travel is easy but it can be messy if you get stuck. Use your time the best you can because it is limited and we can only go back to the past for advice so many times before those memories whither away. Use your dreams and just dreams, don't let them get so out of hand that they are unreachable. Live in your now and make it the best you can.

Now I have a date with January 18th 2014, happy travels.
