Song of the day!
OAR - City On Down
We're Just Livin' Again!
I have been using this one a lot lately. It's one of those things that if you say it enough it becomes muscle memory. The brain itself may not be a muscle but it can be the strongest or weakest muscle you have.
Muscles grow when worked, they grow bigger when they are worked in different ways. You have to work your brain in different ways or everything turns to repetition. Repetition is good is some aspects of life but not when it comes to thinking. Nobody wants to grow stagnant through repetition. It is 100% possible to change your repetitive habits, but nobody can do it for you, it has to start with you.
Therapy has been the awakening I needed. I realized I needed help, I decided to get help, I am embracing all of it, and I am growing because of it. Change is possible, everyone can do it, you just need to make the leap.
Serenity
To accept the things I cannot change.
This is key to everything in life, absolutely everything!
You can't change the past, that is then and this is now. Don't try to fix the past, you'll drive yourself crazy trying and then you realize you can't. Things happen, life happens and experiences happen and sometimes trying to change the past will have detrimental effects on the future. Learn from the past, bring it with you as a reminder.
Courage
To change the things I can.
You can't change the past but you can change the future!
You bring the past with you no matter what you do, it's up to you to pick what parts of it define you. Bring the bad to learn what not to do and bring the good with you to remember how you did it. Every experience helps us to be a better us in the future, if you decide to change. Every second from right now until the end of time, you can change everything, you just have to want it.
Wisdom
To know the difference
There are things you can't change and there are things you can, don't get those two mixed up!
Sometimes you may think you are doing the right thing and you might be doing the exact opposite. Often times I've confused these two and it's one of the things I have the courage to admit and the courage to change. I can't change how I was viewed in the past, I can change how I am viewed in the future.
Happy Saturday!!
