Life is Really Simple, But We Insist on Making it Complicated.

Yes I borrowed a quote from Confucius, but I doubt he'll say anything, he's been gone since 479 BCE. Then again in this day in age, some distant relative probably wants a royalty. Back to the matter at hand and it's a very simple matter, why do we complicate things?
Life is so mind-blowingly simple but somehow we all manage to complicated the life out of it. Yes there are parts of life that are utterly mundane, but there is so much more to life and living than the everyday grind. I'm guilty the same as everyone else at this, too much of work follows me around and it cuts into living. Yes, I love my job but at the same time I loathe it. The trick is to make the best of it so it doesn't keep me from life.
The most complicated parts of life are the ones we put into our own head, read that again, and again, and again. That is a thought to beat like a dead horse. Side note, who in the heck came up with that saying?!?!?! There is so much more to life than the way you think things should be. Don't be so stubborn that you get caught in a repetitive mindset that sucks the life out of everything.
Now for some Einstein, because who doesn't love that guy? "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." That is my go to for problem solving and life. If you get stuck in an eternal rut, you are the only person that can pull you out of it. If I'm building something and nothing is working out the way it does in my head, well start from the beginning and find the part that is complicating it, redesign it, revise it, or eliminate it. The amount of times I've just scrapped something and started over because I was driving myself made is unfathomable. In the long run, it saves time.
Now how to transfer that to life? That's not as easy as it sounds because there are always factors that seem to be out of our control. The first thing to do is to take control of your outcome. Do you like who you are, what you are doing, and the people around you? If you answered no to any of that, it's not that complicated, simplify it all, cut out the parts that weigh you down.
Now for some Douglas Adams, my favorite: "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so." If you see people living their best life, what are you doing differently? It is really easy to be carefree if you pick what you care about. For me, I don't care what people think of me, I don't care if everything isn't absolutely perfect, I don't care if people say I'm not acting my age, and I really don't care who judges me for all of it. I live my best life because I choose to, I don't complicate it, life is for living.
I don't know if any of that makes any kind of sense but I've only had a few cups of coffee and the hamster wheel in my head is spinning. Apparently hamsters handle caffeine differently.
To sum it all up, everyday of our lives we are one step closer to eternity.
Everyday is a chance to uncomplicate life.
Everyday is a chance to be the change you need an other people need.
Everyday is a chance to live life the way it is meant to be lived.
Live your best life, be your best you, keep it simple, and in the end you won't regret anything.
Peace.
